JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Airmen receiving basic allowance for housing (BAH) dependent pay are required to recertify their entitlement before the end of the year.

Initiated by the deputy assistant secretary of financial management in March 2014, the recertification process will fulfill a new Air Force-wide requirement to ensure all members receiving dependent rate BAH are tracked, verified and logged.

Previously, the Air Force was not required to track and log this information.

Airmen can visit any one of the finance offices located on Joint Base San Antonio to complete the recertification. Hours of operation are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., except on Wednesdays hours will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

JBSA-Lackland will also be conducting a mass recertification on Oct. 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. in bldg. 5616, room 118.

The BAH recertification will be documented on AF Form 594 and added to the military member's official records. Like other official records, members will be able to view their form 594 in the Automated Records Management System.

Contact your local finance office for more information.
