CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Lieutenant Col. Chuck Dudik is scheduled to assume command of Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 2 from Lt. Col. Robert M. Kudelko during a ceremony here July 17.
The squadron supports the Marine Air-Ground Task Force commander and other governing authorities by conducting airborne electronic warfare, day or night, under any weather condition during both expeditionary and combined operations.
“I have bitter-sweet feelings about leaving such an outstanding bunch of Marines and saying goodbye to the (Marine tactical electronic warfare) community that I have called home for nearly 17-years,” said Kudelko, an EA-6B Prowler pilot by trade. “I will definitely miss being in the operational forces, but I am appreciative and humbled to have been a part of the Prowler community for as long as I have.”
Serving as the commanding officer since January 2013, Kudelko feels as though nothing else in his military career could ever top his experience of being the commanding officer of a “gun squadron.”
“There is no single highlight, but rather a vast collection of proud moments watching (VMAQ-2) Marines put forth maximum effort due to the pride that they have in being Marines and the pride they have in this squadron,” said Kudelko. “They live by our motto ‘can do easy,’ and I could not have asked these Marines to perform any better. I hope that I have served them as well as they have served me and this nation.”
As Kudelko leaves the squadron he will continue his career working for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Force Structure, Resources and Assessment Directorate.
Dudik joins the squadron after serving as aviation electronic warfare requirements officer at Headquarters Marine Corps. He plans to continue leading the Marines in the squadron’s rich tradition of professionalism and warfighting excellence.
“We will continually reinforce our focus on readiness, standards and core values,” said Dudik. “Being a commander affords me the cherished opportunity to lead Marines and Sailors, and to deploy our weapons systems in support of our brothers-in-arms. I am honored and humbled for the opportunity to serve alongside the Marines and Sailors of VMAQ-2.”
