Update: Clarification of invitees to the April 9 memorial ceremony. All Fort Hood Soldiers and their families along with Fort Hood Department of the Army Civilians and their families are invited to the ceremony. Due to limited space, access will be on a first-come basis. DoD identification is required.

FORT HOOD, Texas -- A Fort Hood Memorial Ceremony will be held on Sadowski Field at the III Corps Headquarters Building at 2 p.m. April 9 for the Soldiers who died from the April 2 shooting incident here. The ceremony is by invitation only.

The ceremony is pooled for television and open to a limited number of pre-credentialed still photographers and correspondents. Television stand-up positions behind the ceremony are available.

Media agencies who wish to cover the memorial ceremony must register each member of their organization at http://www.forthoodpresscenter.com/go/survey/3439/14687/ by noon (CDT) April 8.

All names submitted for credentials must be as they appear on the registrant’s government-issued identification, which will be presented at checkpoints for entrance. Registered media will be credentialed and confirmation emails will be sent out after the deadline has passed. Registration does not guarantee access.

NOTE: The White House will be sending out an advisory for members of the media who wish to cover the arrival and departure of Air Force One. Media outlets that wish to cover both events should plan on credentialing and sending separate crews to the airport and to the memorial service, as a single crew will not be able to cover both events.
