    FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Aug. 26, in Hasan Karez, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

    First Lt. Jason Togi, 24, whose home of record is listed as Pago Pago, American Samoa, entered the military service in September 2011 as an engineer. He was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since July 2013.
    Togi deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, in July 2013.

    Togi’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal.
