CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – This week’s Third Army/U.S. Army Central Soldier of the Week is Spc. Cristy R. Chigozili, a medic serving with the Intelligence and Support Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, Third Army/ARCENT.
Chigozili is serving a 12-month tour in Kuwait attached to Third Army/ARCENT but belongs to the 518th Sustainment Brigade out of Knightdale, N.C. She is a native of Fountain Inn S.C., and has served in the U.S. Army Reserve for two years.
“I joined the military because I wanted to be a part of the one percent that actually fight for and defend our freedoms and not one of the ones sitting on the sidelines,” said Chigozili.
Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Science Fiction and Horror.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I don't have a particular food that is my favorite so I will go with my favorite food group which is fruits.
Q: What are your goals?
A: My goals are to complete my Vet Tech degree and to continually improve myself in all aspects of my life and career, and advance in rank.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of the wonderful people I have met, and am now able to call my friends, on this deployment. Without these friends I would not have had the motivation to push myself outside my comfort zone and do all the runs and sports that I have participated in.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: My hobbies include: Horseback riding, volleyball, working out, reading and watching movies.
Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: If I could spend one hour with anyone it would be my Uncle Brent, just so that I could tell him one more time that I love him and let him know what a great influence he was and still is even though he is gone.
