MARIETTA, Ga. - An advisory group comprised of industry and federal personnel at Defense Contract Management Agency Lockheed Martin Marietta recognized several individuals at a ceremony at the north Georgia facility. The 2012 recipients of the Leading in Excellence award include Jim Lockhart, a property administrator at DCMA-LMM.
Lockhart was recognized for taking on the challenge of addressing a lack of process and infrastructure to handle new demilitarization contract requirements and anticipated volume. Working with the contractor, he helped create a new process flow, determine process ownership, define accounting rules, develop a business case, and recommend demilitarization facilities and assets to ensure proper demilitarization of tools and other property. Together the team exceeded all goals in the JAG charter and carried the effort well beyond original expectations.
The DCMA-LM Aeronautics Joint Advisory Group’s Leading in Excellence award was established in 2002 to recognize individuals who make outstanding contributions toward achievement of JAG goals and objectives specific to the Marietta site. Lockhart and the other recipients were presented commendation letters, certificates and DCMA-LMM commander’s coins. Their names were also added to the Leading in Excellence plaque on display at the facility.
