FORT HOOD, TEXAS – More than 20 public affairs professionals competed in a golf scramble at the Courses of Clear Creek May 7, to raise money for the Fort Hood public affairs Family Readiness Group.
The soldiers competed in teams of four and, despite a general lack of golf experience and talent among the competitors, a good time was had by all.
“This was the first time we’ve done this as a fundraiser, so I hope I’ve started something that will carry on long after I’ve left Fort Hood,” said Sgt. William Begley, a journalist with the 11th Public Affairs Detachment and the event organizer.
