EL PASO, Texas – An active-duty soldier re-enlisted, Feb. 22, in a ceremony at the Western Technical College, here.
Spc. Christopher Carter, 47th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, re-enlisted for an additional five years of service.
“The biggest reason was to help support my family,” said Carter. “And I love the Army. It’s the best thing in the world.”
Carter, a husband, father and soldier, attended Western Technical College for the Diesel Technology program.
While fulfilling his duties as a soldier, he decided to re-affirm his dedication to the Army and his country at the college because of the school’s teachers and staff.
“Western Tech means a lot to me,” said Carter. “Having teachers and staff who are prior military helps because they understand and work with you to keep you on track.”
He said the Army has also taught him a lot: discipline; military bearing; how to do things on his own.
“You can’t beat that and you won’t get that kind of training on the outside world,” he concluded. “Go Army Strong!”
