Battalion commanders from the Iraqi army's 2nd and 4th divisions discuss better positioning of their forces during the northern Za'ab security meeting held Sept. 26 in Qayyarah West, Iraq. The meeting focused on the Za'ab triangle, an area that covers Qayyarah West to Bayji to Kirkirk back to Qayyarah West, that has been a "hot bed" of recent terrorist activity most notably the August 14th's catastrophic vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices in Khahtaniya and al Jazeera. Those VBIEDs killed around 300 and wounded over 400 in the Ninewah province. "We have to act now," Maj. Gen. Benjamin Mixon, commander, Multi-National Division-North and 25th Infantry Division said in his welcoming remarks, "the people feel that they have been forgotten...we have to fight that perception with action and ISF presence."
