Spc. Thomas Long, a native of Hartselle, Ala., patrols through the western Baghdad neighborhood of Hurriyah, June 26. Soldiers continue to maintain a presence in the area, interacting with local citizens and continuing to help build the Iraqi security forces. Long serves with 3rd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad.
