Sgt. Spencer Tilove, 307th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Washington National Guard, works with his Mongolian armed forces counterpart Staff Sgt. Munkhtulga Oyunbat as part of the command post exercise communications team during Khaan Quest 2013, Aug. 11. Mongolian, U.S. and multinational forces worked together to enhance regional interoperability and mission effectiveness, as well as develop common tactics, techniques and procedures. Participants are tested and trained through fictional scenarios to plan missions, react to situations that arise, and interact with external entities. Khaan Quest is multinational peacekeeping exercise hosted and sponsored by the Mongolian Armed Forces with a co-sponsorship alternating between U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, and U.S. Army Pacific. MARFORPAC is the executive agent for this year’s exercise. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Balinda O’Neal/Released)
