Paratroopers of the 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, seek cover after placing a "doughnut charge" on a door during the battalion's breachers course, on Fort Bragg, N.C., Aug. 9. Made with looped detonation cord, the doughnut charge was timed to give the team 30 seconds to get to safety before the explosion occurred. The "Red Falcons," currently part of the nation's Global Response Force, held a breachers training course designed to equip infantry team members with the skills necessary to employ mechanical, ballistic and explosive means of gaining rapid entry into locked structures in support of contingency noncombatant evacuation operations.
