    22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit

    Lance Cpl. Mason Bube, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit mortarman and native of Louisville, K.Y., fires an M224 mortar system as Cpl. Travis Wamer, native of Covington, Ohio, stabilizes the weapon system during a field exercise at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., July 24, 2013, in preparation for the MEUs upcoming deployment. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations.
