U.S. Marines from Marine Corps Recruiting Station Phoenix explain the Combat Fitness Test to the Campo Verde High School Football team, July 20, 2013, concluding the team’s annual weeklong football camp retreat in Prescott, Ariz. The players received a bronze, silver or gold Eagle, Globe and Anchor sticker to place on their helmet, based on their performance among their teammates. The coaching staff invites the Marines to discuss leadership with the players and introduce them to the CFT, which requires mental toughness and max energy exertion for short periods of time much like football. "This is the third time we've had the Marines come up and participate in the camp with us," said Campo Verde Head Coach Max Ragsdale. "We just really like what they're about and feel it helps validate what we're doing as a football program."
