Spc. Ian Zinsmeister, a first-person view strike drone operator assigned to D Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Calvary Division, prepares to operate an FPV drone during a counter-unmanned aircraft system qualification event at Fort Hood, Texas, July 26, 2026. Zinsmeister, who developed his drone expertise through years of personal study, operational experience and advanced military training, supported the event while helping Soldiers understand and counter emerging aerial threats.
