An employee with the USACE Walla Walla District handles the taglines as a crane moves an innovative new bubbler to an awaiting boat. Designed to cool fish ladder water temperatures, this technology encourages species to continue migrating. During summer, rising surface water temperatures often discourage species like Pacific salmon from exiting the ladders to continue their journey upstream.
