Lower water levels during the dry season on Lake Okeechobee open up wide stretches of marsh and shallow water, drawing in big flocks of birds as they sweep across the lake. The Big O is naturally shallow, so when the water drops, food gets concentrated and the birds really move in. Under a sky full of building clouds, you can see how these seasonal changes bring the lake’s wildlife to life across the open horizon.
