Portuguese Air Force Brig. Gen. João Paulo Nunes Vicente shakes hands with Illinois Air National Guard Commander Brig. Gen. Kevin Jacobs as the two exchange gifts at the end of staff talks in May between Illinois National Guard senior leaders and the Portuguese Armed Forces. The talks were held at the National Ministry of Defense in Lisbon, Portugal. The Illinois National Guard and the Portuguese Armed Forces established a State Partnership Program last year. Brig. Gen. Vicente is the acting Air Staff Coordinator for the Portuguese military and served as the Chairperson and General Staff Coordinator for the staff talks.
