Major Gen. Ray Shields, the adjutant general of New York, left, and Richard Anderson, the Air Force’s assistant secretary for manpower and reserve affairs, present a challenge coin to Lance Corp. A.M. Sethsen, a Greenlandic member of the Danish Army, on May 19, 2026, in Kangerlaussauq Greenland. Sethsen was presented with the coin to thank him for his quick actions in helping NY Army National Guard Command Sgt. Major Cory Cush when Cush fractured his leg in a running accident. Shields and Anderson were in Greenland visiting members of the New York Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing. ( U.S. Air National Guard photo by Col Eric Underhill)
