Tawney Brunsch, Executive Director of Lakota Funds, signs closing documents, becoming the latest Native Community Development Financial Institution to participate in the demonstration program. Lakota Funds received $764,000 to finance home loans for Native Americans living on the Pine Ridge Reservation. South Dakota became the first state to offer the program when, in 2018, Mazaska Owecaso Otipi Financial in Pine Ridge, and Four Bands in Eagle Butte, each received $800,000 to begin the lending process.
