Apollo, a Multi-Purpose Canine assigned to 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) receives a celebratory “Pup Cup” after being awarded an Army Commendation Medal at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, May 1, 2026. 1st SFG(A) organized the first K9 retirement from its ranks in further support of Apollo and Moker's service.
1st SFG(A) conducts special operations throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command areas of responsibility, in order to support command objectives and U.S. national interests. The group maintains and employs units of action to execute the full spectrum of special operations at a moment's notice with allies, partners, and the joint force.
