SAN DIEGO (May 13, 2026) Capt. Kellie McMullen, commanding officer, Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) presents Lt. Cmdr. William Graham with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his performance of his duties in support of the NASA-Artemis II AVATAR recover response mission from January 2026 to April 2026. Graham coordinated staff in providing operational support to the Artemis II science team for the successful extraction of a high value ARTEMIS II AVATAR biological payload. NHRC, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, supports Navy, Marine Corps and joint U.S. warfighter health readiness and lethality with research and development that delivers high-value, high-impact solutions to the health and readiness challenges that the U.S. military population faces on the battlefield, at-sea, home and abroad.
