A member of the Department of War’s one and only aerial spray maintenance flight flips a flow control switch while demonstrating the modular aerial spray system during the department’s annual Aerial Application Pest Control Course at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, May 7, 2026. Facilitated by medical entomologists, the week-long course provides pest management participants from across the DOW the opportunity to earn their Category 11 Applicator Certification and the knowledge to achieve the maximum kill of target pests with minimal impact on the environment, the ultimate goal of pest aerial spray.
