U.S. Service members and civilian contractors attend a memorial ceremony for Spc. Hilda I. Clayton at Forward Operating Base Gamberi in Laghman province, Afghanistan, July 8, 2013. Clayton died while photographing Afghan National Army soldiers conduct a live-fire training exercise when a mortar system failed and exploded, July 2. Clayton, of Augusta, Ga., was forward-deployed in Afghanistan as the combat camera asset covering the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, “Task Force Long Knife,” at the time of her death.
