U.S. Army Green Berets assigned to the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) check their equipment during Exercise Balikatan 2026 at Fort Magsaysay, Philippines, April 30, 2026. Green Berets and Philippine operators from the First Scout Ranger Regiment conducted a simulated direct action hostage rescue mission using two CH-47 Chinook helicopters from 25th Combat Aviation Brigade as an air assault platform. Balikatan is a longstanding annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military that represents the strength of our alliance, improves our capable combined force, and demonstrates our commitment to regional peace and prosperity.
