NORFOLK – Rear Adm. Benjamin Nicholson, commander, Military Sealift Command (MSC), addresses the audience during MSC’s annual Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) event held at Naval Station Norfolk, April 27, 2026. Tracy Redfearn Matheson, president and founder of Project Beloved: The Molly Jane Mission served as the keynote speaker for the event. MSC’s annual event is aimed at educating, raising awareness, and preventing sexual assault. MSC directs and supports operations for approximately 140 civilian-crewed ships that replenish Navy ships at sea, conduct specialized missions, preposition combat cargo at sea around the world, perform a variety of support services, and move military equipment and supplies to deployed forces.
