Gen. Eric M. Smith, 39th Commandant of the Marine Corps, receives an Operations and Intelligence brief from Marines with U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) during a visit to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, April 16, 2026. During his visit, the Commandant presented a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and coins to Marines recognized for exceptional performance in their respective fields. U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command serves as the Marine Corps Service Component to U.S. Central Command, supporting theater security cooperation and contingency operations across the CENTCOM area of operation.
