Leadership from Space Launch Delta 45 and the Air Force Civil Engineer Center cut the ribbon to commemorate the renovated Skid Strip at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The two-year construction project transformed the previously aging 10,000-foot runway into a modern strip ready to support some of the nation’s heaviest military aircraft and payloads, which are critical to supporting the Eastern Range’s record-breaking launch cadence.
