Marines serving with Bravo Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, paddle down a river in rubber reconnaissance crafts, also known as Zodiacs, during a reconnaissance patrol here, June 26, 2013. The Zodiac, which is often used by Navy SEALs and reconnaissance Marines, can be used for over the horizon transportation of lightly armed raiding parties or reconnaissance teams onto beaches, larger vessels, piers and offshore facilities. The boat is inflated by eight individual air chambers to prevent a single leak from deflating the entire boat.
