Marines serving with Bravo Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, extract from the training area after a three-day reconnaissance patrol here, June 23, 2013. During the patrol, the Marines moved a distance of nearly 15 kilometers with packs weighing approximately 100 pounds. Once they reached their objective rally point, they observed a mock enemy force for 36 hours to gather intelligence and send up to higher command. After gathering enough intelligence, the reconnaissance men back trailed their positions and extracted the area by a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
