U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Charge, a paratrooper assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, assembles a wireless Combat Automated Information System Interface (CAISI) that was modified to help transmit and encrypt secret network information to subordinate units at Camp Mackall, N.C., June 22, 2013. The unit constructed and successfully tested the modified CAISI as part of Joint Operational Access Exercise (JOAX) 13-03 to ensure the brigade maintains its capability as a contingency ground element of the Global Response Force. JOAX is designed to enhance cohesiveness between U.S. Army, Air Force and allied personnel, allowing the services an opportunity to properly execute large-scale heavy equipment and troop movement.
