U.S. Army Maj. Timothy Cross, left, a chaplain, and 2nd Lt. Sean Chambers, a military intelligence officer, both assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, set up a tactical satellite radio to contact subordinate units while establishing a field headquarters, during Joint Operational Access Exercise (JOAX) 13-03, at Camp Mackall, N.C., June 22, 2013. Members with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team conducted an airborne assault into Camp Mackall during JOAX 13-03 to ensure the brigade maintains its capability as a contingency ground element of the Global Response Force. JOAX is designed to enhance cohesiveness between U.S. Army, Air Force and allied personnel, allowing the services an opportunity to properly execute large-scale heavy equipment and troop movement.
