Military funeral honors are conducted for U.S. Navy Lt. Griffith Way and U.S. Navy Lt. J.G. Patricia Way in the Nimitz Shelter at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, March 31, 2026. Griffith and Patricia were both Japanese translators for the Navy during World War II and were married for 73 years. Following their funeral service, they were inurned together in Columbarium Court 7. Their daughter, Susan Way, received the U.S. flag from their funeral service.
