The Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, thanks a group of U.S. Marines during Exercise Cold Response 26, in Setermoen, Norway, March 18, 2026. The Marines were part of the 2nd Marine Division’s Marine Air Ground Task Force during the exercise and conducted multi-domain operations alongside 13 other NATO allies and more than 30,000 multinational service members. A key component of NATO's enhanced vigilance activity, Arctic Sentry, exercise Cold Response 26 is a Norwegian-led winter military exercise designed to enhance collective defense capabilities and ensure U.S. readiness to rapidly deploy and seamlessly operate alongside NATO Allies in challenging arctic conditions.
