Canadian Army soldiers serving with the Royal 22nd Regiment clear a building at a training town here during Dawn Blitz 2013, June 17. The soldiers demonstrated their urban operational skills to Marines serving with 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, as they cleared one and two-story buildings, stairwells and alleyways throughout the training town. After the Canadian soldiers were finished clearing the town, the Marines shared tips and techniques they have used successfully in combat to help improve the Canadian’s skill set. Dawn Blitz 2013 is a multinational amphibious exercise that promotes interoperability between the Navy and Marine Corps and coalition partners, June 11-28. Participating countries include Canada, Japan, New Zealand and military observers from seven countries.
