Capt. Ronald Oswald, commanding officer, Navy Operational Support Center Ventura County, and senior veterans salute while the NOSC Ventura County Color Guard present colors for the pledge of allegiance and national anthem during a Flag Day celebration at the Sunrise Senior Living Center June 14. The sailors visited the facility to spend time with veterans and pay tribute to the U.S. flag as a part of the Spirit of ’45 celebration. Organized by VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and Sunrise, the event gave younger military a chance to hear the stories from their predecessors.
