Gold Star mother Sue King-Wieczorek and husband Ray view the memorial in the Illinois National Guard case honoring the 34 Illinois National Guard service members who have died in service to their country since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. King-Wieczorek, the Gold Star mother of U.S. Army Sgt. Robert M. Weinger, placed a replacement Chicago White Sox mini helmet in the memorial case after the original went missing. The Chicago White Sox knocked it out of the park, providing a replacement helmet to "keep the memories safe" for Gold Star families.
