    Parachute riggers assigned to Group Support Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), load a Joint Precision Airdrop System in a truck for the first JPADS demonstration at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, Feb. 12, 2026. Parachute riggers with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), ensure service member safety during airborne operations. They inspect, test, and pack parachutes and their systems, handling all components throughout the operation.

    1st SFG(A) conducts special operations throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command areas of responsibility, in order to support command objectives and U.S. national interests. The group maintains and employs units of action to execute the full spectrum of special operations at a moment's notice with allies, partners, and the joint force.
