U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Eric Emerson, commander of the 119th Fighter Squadron, is greeted by leadership from the New Jersey National Guard who were welcoming home nearly 300 members of the 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard, in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, Jan. 21, 2026, upon their completion of a more than three month-long deployment to Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Emerson led the 177th Fighter Wing's F-16 deployment to Kadena Air Base, which projected combat-ready airpower to deter aggression and ensure stability, affirming the U.S. commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
