A 2025 Platinum Achievement award rests on a table during the 30th Annual Commute Smart Champions award ceremony in Spokane, Washington, Feb. 5, 2026. Commute Smart Northwest recognized Fairchild AFB as a platinum level employer for their participation in the initiative to reduce traffic congestion, air pollution and fuel consumption. With over 100 businesses participating in the program, nearly 850,000 miles are not driven on the roads resulting in a reduction of over 785,400 tons of air pollution weekly.
