Local community members cut up lotus roots to give to the volunteers from the Cultural Adaptation Program in Iwakuni City, Japan, Feb. 3, 2026. Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni residents took part in a dig for lotus roots through the Cultural Adaptation Program with Marine Corps Community Services, as its mission is to provide base residents with opportunities to experience Japanese culture and foster relations with the local community.
