GREAT LAKES, Ill. (February 4, 2026) Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) Executive Officer, Cmdr. Julius Dabu, Michael Magentta, NSGL United Service Organization (USO) center operations manager, and Fire Controlman Seaman Jason Ching, from Miami, cut the cake during cutting ceremony in celebration of 85 years of service and dedication to service members and their families by the USO. The USO was founded by six different agencies on February 4, 1945 to help raise the welfare and spirits of troops headed into battle.
