On January 27, 2026, the Army Security Cooperation Group – South (ASCG-S) conducted a small ceremony on Kelley Hill, Fort Benning, Georgia to commemorate its ongoing transformation. ASCG-S, formerly 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade (1st SFAB), will has become central to security cooperation in Panama, through its assumption of the Joint Security Cooperation Group-South and the Combined Jungle Operations Training Center missions.
