TOKYO (Jan. 23, 2026) Steve Parode, the deputy director for Naval Intelligence, presents Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Rear Adm. Takeshi YOSHIOKA, director general of command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence department of the Maritime Staff Office, with the Legion of Merit Medal during the Commander U.S. Naval Forces Japan/Navy Region Japan (CNFJ/RJ) Information Warfare Holiday Party at the New Sanno Hotel in Tokyo, Jan. 23, 2026. CNFJ/RJ’s primary responsibility is to provide shore readiness to the fleet; to liaise with the Japanese government; and to strengthen ties with the JMSDF.
