Gary Keefe, the Adjutant General of the Massachusetts National Guard (MANG), is welcomed to Headquarters of the Armed Forces Command of Paraguay in Asunción, Paraguay, Jan. 21, 2026. Keefe and his delegation attended an award ceremony recognizing individuals who support essential coordination between the United States and Paraguay to advance training, technical expertise, exchanges, humanitarian assistance, emergency preparedness and more. Massachusetts and Paraguay marked 25 years of partnership through the State Partnership Program, a joint initiative of the Department of War, the Department of State and the National Guard Bureau, reinforcing a long-standing, mutually beneficial security relationship.
