251210-O-NJ594-1105, December 9, 2025, Suffolk, Va. -- The Navy and Marine Corps Force Health Protection Command (NMCFHPC) hosted a strategic offsite meeting, Dec. 9 - 11, in Suffolk, Virginia. Capt. Darryl Arfsten, Commander, NMCFHPC and Director, Defense Centers for Public Health – Portsmouth (DCPH-P), kicks off the meeting by examining historic battles and the role that poor communication and “fog of war” played in the outcomes of those battles. Strategic communication and its impact on NMCFHPC’s critical health protection mission was a major focus of the event. (U.S. Navy photo by Desmond Martin)
