Outgoing 1st Sgt. Chris Wilkes passes the unit guidon to Capt. Luis Blanchard, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, during the change of responsibility ceremony at Katterbach Army Airfield, Germany, Jan. 15, 2026. The symbolic transfer of the guidon marks 1st Sgt. Wilkes relinquishing responsibility as first sergeant and formally hands leadership duties to Capt. Blanchard and the incoming first sergeant in front of the assembled company and a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
