Paul Huemme, a pilot with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 242, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, swims to the harbor after participating in water survival training at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Jan. 12, 2026. VMFA-242 participated in winter water survival training as part of their annual back in the saddle program to keep pilots and aircrew proficient in water survival training.
