AFLCMC Commander, Lt. Gen. Donna Shipton and William Bailey, performing the duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, recently presided over a change of leadership ceremony for our Fighters and Advanced Aircraft Directorate. Bailey is based at the Pentagon and attended via video screen.
During the ceremony, Col. Timothy M. Helfrich symbolically took the helm of the organization from outgoing leader Brig. Gen. Jason Voorheis. Helfrich previously served as Senior Materiel Leader - Upper for the Fighters Directorate. The Fighters Directorate executes the development, production, fielding, sustainment, and modernization of the U.S. Air Force and foreign military sales fighter portfolio.
The ceremony took place January 7 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, near Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.
