Cmdr. Patricia Cunanan, Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) chief engineer, gives a tour of the engineering spaces to U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Christian F. Wortman, commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, and Vice Adm. John Wade, commander, U.S. Third Fleet, Dec. 29, 2025. Boxer is currently at homeport in Naval Base San Diego. An integral part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Third Fleet leads naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides realistic, relevant training necessary to execute the U.S. Navy’s role across the full spectrum of military operations. U.S. Third Fleet works together with allies and partners to advance freedom of navigation and overflight, the rule of law and other principles that underpin security for the Indo-Pacific region.
